Meet the caring staff
Leonardo A., BSN, RN
Administrator
Hello! My name is Leonardo, but everyone calls me Silver. I’ve worked in healthcare since 2011 and have been a Registered Nurse for nearly a decade, with most of my career spent in the ICU. During this time, I’ve gained extensive experience caring for older adults, individuals with dementia, those facing mental health challenges, and people living with chronic medical conditions.
My parents always dreamed of opening an adult family home, and together we turned that dream into reality. Our mission is simple: to provide the highest level of care in an environment filled with compassion, dignity, and genuine human connection. We treat our residents like family and are committed to making our home a place where they feel safe, supported, and truly cared for.
Alma A., LPN
Resident Manager
Hello! My name is Alma Afan. I’ve been a Licensed Practical Nurse for more than a decade, with extensive experience in long-term care settings, including assisted living communities and dementia care facilities. I also spent several years working as a dialysis nurse, which strengthened my clinical skills and deepened my appreciation for providing patient-centered care.
Like my son, Silver, I have a passion for serving the geriatric population. That shared dedication inspired us to open our first adult family home together — a place where compassion, dignity, and personalized care come first. I am also a foot-care–trained nurse, allowing me to provide specialized support that many of our residents benefit from.
Outside of nursing, I enjoy cooking, baking, and keeping our home warm and welcoming. Caring for others has always been a natural part of who I am, both professionally and personally.
Gellie L., BSN, RN
Care staffHi! My name is Ana Gessica, but my family and friends call me Gellie or Gel. I work weekends at Silver Living Adult Family Home, and I truly enjoy caring for the geriatric population. This work has taught me the importance of communicating with compassion and understanding. Helping residents maintain their independence, comfort, and confidence gives me a deep sense of fulfillment.
I especially love giving baths, massages, and snacks—small gestures that I know brighten their day and help them feel valued and comfortable. I also enjoy asking them about their lives; listening to their stories helps them reminisce and creates meaningful connections.
During my free time, I like watching Netflix series and taking care of my three kids—my full-time mom duties. I feel proud as a caregiver when I’m able to finish my tasks for the day and still give extra time and attention to the residents. After a long shift, I always find myself looking forward to the next one.
One interesting fact about me is that I’m a people person—I easily get along with others, and building connections is something that comes naturally to me.
Bella V., CNA
Care staffMy name is Bella, and I’m a caregiver at Silver Living.
I love working with seniors because they have such rich life stories and wisdom to share. Every day, I get the privilege of learning from their experiences while helping them feel comfortable, supported, and truly cared for.
One of my favorite parts of caregiving is seeing a resident smile—whether it’s from sharing a laugh together or from realizing they can still enjoy something they love, like tending to a plant or completing a puzzle. Those little moments mean everything.
In my free time, you’ll usually find me studying or eating out with friends. I also enjoy going on road trips with my family.
My proudest moment at Silver Living has been learning each resident’s unique likes, dislikes, and needs, and being able to tailor my care to support them individually. Providing that personalized, heart-centered care is what Silver Living is all about, and I’m proud to be part of it.
Tanya L., CNA
Care staff
My name is Tanya, but people I work with call me Tan, and I’m one of the caregivers at Silver Living. I enjoy working with seniors because caring for those who once cared for us is deeply meaningful to me. Having aging parents has taught me the value of compassionate, intentional support, and I feel honored to provide care that meets them where they are in their journey.
My favorite part of the job is chatting and laughing with the residents — every day feels different, and their stories and reactions always brighten my day. In my free time, I like to watch K-dramas or thriller and suspense movies and spend time with my partner. I also enjoy reading romance novels and hanging out with friends and loved ones while trying out new things.
I feel proud as a caregiver at Silver Living when I see the residents relax, smile, or feel truly seen because of something I did. Knowing that I can bring joy, comfort, or even just a moment of connection — especially with people who remind me of my own aging parents — makes the work incredibly meaningful. One fun fact about me is that I used to work in Human Resources, and I can always find a way to connect — I can talk and laugh with anyone.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, listening to music, watching movies, and staying active. I also love learning new skills that help me grow both personally and professionally.
I take pride in being entrusted with families' loved ones, and I’m grateful to be part of a team at Silver Living that values compassion, respect, and high-quality care. Knowing that my work makes a real difference in someone’s life gives me purpose every day. Duncan K., CNA
Care staff
Hi, I’m Duncan! I work as a caregiver at Silver Living, where I genuinely enjoy helping clients stay active and confident in their daily lives. One of my favorite parts of the job is assisting clients with their exercises and supporting them as they use assistive devices for safe and comfortable ambulation. It’s incredibly rewarding to see their progress and know I’m part of their journey toward better mobility and independence.
In my free time, I love going for runs—it helps me stay energized, clear my mind, and maintain my own wellness. Staying active is important to me, both personally and professionally, and I enjoy bringing that positivity into the care I provide.
Joven S., CNA
Care staff
My name is Joven, and I’m one of the caregivers here at Silver Living. I love working with seniors because it gives me a real sense of fulfillment — there’s nothing quite like knowing you’ve made someone’s day a little easier.
One of my favorite parts of the job is cooking for our residents, making them laugh, and helping them feel neat, tidy, and cared for. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me playing or watching basketball, cooking something new, going on trips, or spending time with my family.
I’m proud to be part of Silver Living because everyone here treats each other like family and supports you in every way they can. And a fun fact about me: before becoming a caregiver, I actually worked as an engineer!
Anne T. CNA
Care staff
My name is Anne, and I’m one of the night-shift caregivers here at Silver Living. I enjoy working with seniors because it helps me better understand their stages of development and gives me a clearer picture of what they’re going through.
My favorite part of the job is being able to learn new things every day and gain more experience in the healthcare field. During my free time, I like to clean and organize my space — it relaxes me — and I also love catching up on sleep whenever I can.
What makes me proud to be a caregiver at Silver Living is knowing that I’m continually learning, building my skills, and forming meaningful connections with both our residents and my coworkers. A fun fact about me is that I’m very easy-going and casual, which makes it easy for me to connect and feel comfortable with the people around me.
